Dr. Rocio Harbison is a native of Puerto Rico where she completed her undergraduate and medical school education. She completed Medical School at University of Puerto Rico, Internal Medicine Residency at St Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana and her Fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at University of Michigan in Ann

Arbor, Michigan. The fellowship program is consistently ranked in the top 10 nationally in Endocrinology. She was faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston and worked in a large group practice prior to founding Advanced Endocrinology and Diabetes Clinic.

Dr. Harbison is Board Certified in Endocrinology and a Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist. In addition to her clinical practice she is a primary investigator for multiple studies, a speaker and a volunteer for the American Heart Association.

Dr. Harbison believes that the patient physician relationship is a partnership focused on the long-term health and well being. She is an advocate for preventive medicine and population health promoting health and well-being to prevent disease. She has also a special interest in medical technologies as a means of providing the patients with self-management support as well as more meaningful clinical visits.

Dr. Harbison has been listed in Houston Top Doctors yearly since 2016 by the Houstonia Magazine. 

In her spare time she enjoys time with her husband and 5 children, ball room dancing and exercise. 

Dr Harbison is fluent in English and Spanish.
